This Engineer I position assists the Engineering Staff with various engineering tasks related to the design, operation, and/or maintenance of water and wastewater systems. The work will include applying engineering principals to real world problems and will provide the opportunity to learn new waterworks engineering skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from accredited university.
- Experience with personal computers and a strong working knowledge of the Windows operating systems (Windows 7 preferred) and various software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office, AutoCAD.
- Basic understanding of engineering drafting. AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of hydraulics when it comes to gravity and pressure systems.
- Results-oriented with a high degree of initiative.
- Ability to interface, build relationships, and communicate with peers and all levels of management.
- Ability to work independently and function in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments with limited time constraints and changing requirements.
- Good problem-solving and math skills.
- Adequate verbal and written skills to communicate in English with others including internal and external customers.
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional manner.
- Valid state driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to follow Company rules, procedures, and directions from a supervisor.
- Valid Engineering Intern License preferred.
