Medical Lab Technologist (OPSEU LAB) - Hematology

LifeLabs is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join their team in Hematology. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing, preparing and processing samples, and ensuring accurate labeling and documentation. They will also assist with the evaluation and implementation of new technology and participate in problem-solving in work organization and workflow. The ideal candidate will have a college diploma or university degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience, and be registered with the CMLTO in good standing.

Requirements

• College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
• CMLTO registered and in good standing.
• Excellent communication skills to enable you to relate with a wide variety of people.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment while adhering to LifeLabs standards of safety, accuracy and efficiency.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail who demonstrates curiosity.
• Ability to distinguish multiple colors.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office products, as well as laboratory analyzers.
• Problem solving skills, including the ability to identify and follow-up on issues.
• Ability to maintain the strictest standards of safety, patient privacy and confidentiality.
