Requirements
- Update and implement category strategy for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) including battery cells, power conversion systems (PCS), and energy management systems (EMS), in cooperation with other relevant category managers.
- Develop and execute contracting strategies tailored to EMEA BESS market, including targets on pricing, delivery, service, and quality that reflect global supplier landscapes.
- Generate regular reports on category performance, market insights, price and technology development forecasts, and assist in the project budget development, investment decision processes and application of regional incentives such as EU funding mechanisms or national renewable subsidies.
- Identify new suppliers for BESS and manage the prequalification process.
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the supply chain, develop mitigation strategies, and establish contingency plans to ensure supply chain resilience.
- Manage RFP processes, supplier selection based on maximum long-term value including price, technical performance and risk factors (such as quality, delivery, reliability, financial stability, HSE, compliance) to choose partners that offer best overall value for the project.
- Negotiate supply contracts for BESS systems and if required other power generation and transmission equipment contracts considering project requirements, legal, regulatory and commercial conditions.
- Lead cross-functional teams during procurement process including legal, insurance, finance, development, operations, and technical experts to ensure aligned contract development and negotiation with appropriate terms and risk allocation.
- Provide regular procurement and project status reports, track deliveries and expedite logistics considering regional import/export requirements, customs regulations, and local infrastructure variability.
- Facilitate NDAs, Letters of Intent, MOUs and Purchase Orders respecting local business requirements and regulatory compliance.
