The Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring that production casting processes are being performed as designed and quoted as well as offer assistance to the Engineering and Production team when needed for process verification, continuous improvement activities or optimization of the process.
Requirements
- Develop high-pressure die cast process manufacturing parameters for aluminum castings
- Interface with design personnel at development stage to suggest designs that will improve efficiency and reduce cost
- Study quality issues to determine root cause and approve countermeasures
- Assist with casting parameters to reduce the number of rejects and achieve daily production targets
- Identify and implement Kaizen safety initiatives
- Support departmental LPA and safety Audits
- Work with tooling engineers to review tooling design and ensure company standards in die cast dies and trim dies
- Analyze casting simulation software using MAGMA or equivalent
- Troubleshoot quality issues in die cast machines
- Support cell design with manufacturing engineer to ensure correct process flow
- Work with suppliers to design dedicated spray manifolds for new projects
- Monitor die cast performance
- Train and develop process technicians and other Engineers as required
