Lead DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Lead a team of DevOps engineers within a Platform/Lab, responsible for DevOps strategy and process improvements.

What You Will Do

Measure and report effectiveness of process improvements to senior stakeholders, design and operate cloud-native platforms, and ensure scalability, reliability, and repeatability.

Requirements

• 14+ years of software engineering experience
• 10 years in DevOps or platform engineering roles
• Strong experience in DevOps engineering and platform design
• Hands-on expertise in building and operating cloud-native platforms
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
• Hands-on expertise in GCP, Kubernetes (GKE), containerisation, and distributed systems
• Strong programming skills (e.g. Java, Python, Go, or similar)
• Strong understanding and practical application of agile engineering practices
• Strong understanding of observability, SLOs/SLAs, and production operations
• Experience designing for resilience and scalability, including DR, capacity management, and performance optimisation
• Strong collaboration skills, working effectively across engineering, architecture, and product teams
