The Busser plays an essential role in maintaining cleanliness and order in the dining area, supporting servers and other front-of-house staff to ensure a smooth and efficient guest experience.
Requirements
- Clear dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils from tables promptly and efficiently.
- Clean, sanitize, and reset tables for new guests, including placing clean utensils, glassware, napkins, and condiments.
- Sweep and mop floors as necessary to ensure the dining area remains clean throughout the shift.
- Remove trash and dirty linens from the dining area and dispose of them properly.
- Assist servers by delivering food and beverages to guests' tables in a timely and efficient manner.
- Refill water, beverages, and condiments as needed during service.
- Assist with food running, ensuring orders are served promptly and accurately.
- Provide assistance with clearing and resetting tables between guests during busy periods.
- Greet guests and ensure they feel welcomed while assisting with seating if needed.
- Respond to guest requests and inform servers or management of any specific needs.
- Ensure guests’ dining area is well-maintained and comfortable throughout their meal.
- Assist kitchen staff with transferring dishes, glassware, or utensils between the dining room and kitchen areas.
- Ensure clean and sanitized dishes are returned to the dining area as needed.
- Help with keeping the back-of-house areas clean, including dishwashing areas, kitchen floors, and storage spaces.
- Stock supplies such as napkins, silverware, glassware, and condiments in the dining area.
- Replenish and organize serving stations and storage areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and inform management when supplies are running low.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the cleanliness of the dining area and back-of-house spaces.
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to when handling food and beverages.
- Maintain personal hygiene standards and wear proper uniforms or attire as required by the establishment.
- Work cooperatively with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure efficient service.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down the dining room for service during opening and closing hours.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards guests and colleagues.
