Cook

LPR International is seeking skilled Cooks to support a client based in Bethesda, MD. Cooks will prepare and cook a full range of foods, operate specialized equipment, and maintain a clean and sanitary work area.

Requirements

• Prepare and cook a full range of foods
• Operate specialized equipment to cook, chill, and store food
• Plan and coordinate the preparation of entire meals
• Use menus, standardized recipes, and production tallies to schedule and prepare foods
• Maintain clean, sanitary, and orderly work area
• Demonstrate understanding of infection control procedures
• Label, date, store, and rotate foods to ensure safety
• Exercise Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles
• Perform other cleaning tasks using proper cleaning agents and protective gear
• Set up hot food stations with pasta, soups, gravies, and other large quantity production food items
• Prepare several different short order food items simultaneously within established timeframes
• Operate a variety of kitchen equipment properly and safely
• Record food temperatures as part of maintenance procedure for safe service of foods
• Report faulty equipment to supervisor
• Prepare simple food preparation by weighing, measuring, portioning, peeling, and chopping foods as needed
• Prepare, cook, and assemble special diet products for patients on special diets
• Prepare, assemble, label, deliver, store, and properly dispose of enteral formula and other special liquid formulas
