Job Description
Lucidya is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer to drive architectural decisions, lead final design and code reviews, and mentor senior and mid-level engineers. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on backend expertise with strong architectural judgment and mentorship capability.
Requirements
- 10+ years backend engineering experience in production SaaS environments
- Proven hands-on expertise in Python or Ruby on Rails at scale
- Demonstrated ownership of large-scale distributed systems
- Strong experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
- Deep familiarity with AWS (or equivalent cloud platforms)
- Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production
- Strong command of PostgreSQL and at least one of Redis / Elasticsearch
- Proven record of technical leadership and mentorship
- Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills
- Practical experience using GenAI coding tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to improve engineering velocity
