Job Description
Positive Support Specialists work with individuals with complex needs in highly specialized programs, utilizing a person-centered approach to support independence and goal achievement. They assist with daily living skills, advocate for individuals, and manage crisis situations. Training is provided in Positive Behavioral Supports and manual restraints.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals
- Physical ability to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of local community resources
- Must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study
- Must have a driver's license and pass a Motor Vehicle Check (MVR)
