Job Description
The Detention Officer shall perform various duties to ensure the safety and security of detainees at the Juvenile Detention Home. The officer shall provide supervision, guidance, and care to the detainees while promoting a positive and supportive environment. The officer shall also maintain confidentiality and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Familiarity with statutory provisions regarding detention facilities
- Supervision, guidance, and secure custody of detainees
- Evidence-Based Practices with regard to interactions with detainees
- Understanding of adolescent development and transitional disorders
- Ability to work with individuals and groups
- Valid Illinois Drivers License
- 40 hours of training in corrections
