Cook

The Cook is responsible for preparing meals for Family Center residents and the children of the Booth Memorial Child Development Center. The role involves supervising volunteers, monitoring cleanliness, and maintaining kitchen equipment.

Requirements

• Customer Service
• Crisis intervention and mediation skills
• Ability to interact with others professionally
• Initiative, adaptability, and responsibility
• Education or experience working with the homeless population
• Working knowledge of a commercial kitchen
• Understanding of proper serving sizes and healthy cooking procedures
• Ability to practice safe food handling procedures
• Valid California Class C Driver License
• Food Handler permit under California Safety Code 97-0071
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools
