The Preschool Teacher is responsible for planning, monitoring, and coordinating activities to help children develop emotionally, physically, socially, and cognitively. The teacher encourages active learning through creative curriculum, loving interactions, and exploration in a safe, predictable environment.
Requirements
- Develop creative curriculum lessons to meet and support developmental needs of all children
- Maintain a clean, organized, creative, inviting, age-appropriate classroom environment
- Support the ethical, cultural, and confidentiality of each child and to provide diversity and difference with anti-bias curriculum
- Approach challenging behavioral and speech concerns in fair, firm, and caring manner
- Maintain classroom and outdoor in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
- Document child's behavior, speech, and milestone developments for referral matters
- Assist with child's toilet needs (if/when needed)
- Complete all other necessary documents in an organized and timely manner
- Attend and participate in professional training events throughout the year
- Provide active support of, and participation in all Salvation Army campaigns and initiatives
- Serves as a mandated reporter and reports child abuse matters immediately
- Maintain confidentiality of family, staff & proprietary information
- Pleasantly greet children & families upon daily arrival and departure
