Summer Day Camp Youth Aide

The Youth Program Aide will oversee youth and volunteers in the Children's Church and Youth Programs, implement the ministry and mission of the Eastside Corps Community Center, and facilitate youth programs at the Eastside Corps and Community Center.

Requirements

• Supervise children and volunteers in Summer Day Camp
• Assist in implementing programs such as camp songs, VBS, Day Camp, Science projects, crafts, Bible Studies, and Assemblies/Chapel Meetings
• Maintain department logs, including attendance sheets, volunteer hours, incident reports, and notices of concerns
• Provide administrative and clerical support, including photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing
• Implement Child Safety procedures and maintain accurate, organized, complete, and functional files related to Protecting the Mission and Policies for Work with Minors
• Prepare and distribute snacks and meals for programs
• Keep classrooms, gym, chapel, and all areas occupied by the Youth Program clean and orderly
• Plan and prepare activities, classes, and art projects for Summer Day Camp
• Be available as a fill-in driver for Youth Department and other Salvation Army programs
• Conduct assessments to determine whether programs offered are relevant
• Follow all fiscal and financial policies and procedures implemented by the Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center
• Implement all safety policies and regulations required by The Salvation Army Injury and Incident Prevention Program (IIPP)
• Create and maintain a good working relationship with other Corps personnel
• Perform any other work-related duties and assignments as requested by the supervisor
