The Salvation Army is hiring a Summer Tahoma Assistant Program Director to provide spiritual guidance and support to staff and campers at Camp Arnold. The role involves supervising and directing staff, enforcing camp policies, and implementing daily program components.
Requirements
- Responsible for the spiritual welfare of Tahoma staff and campers
- Attend and participate in all camp programs and spiritual activities
- Maintain standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters
- Assist with registration day duties and medical screening of campers
- Work with Tahoma Program Director to plan specific weekly duties
- Plan and implement evening activities in conjunction with TPD and logistician
- Participate in daily staff devotion/prayer time
- Assist in night watch duties
- Ensure the safety of campers and staff on out-trips through consistent and continual evaluation of campers, staff, and environmental concerns
- Instruct campers and staff on the proper use of backpacks, stoves, tents, etc.
- Assist in the operation of the Challenge Course as assigned by the Assistant Camp Director.
- Assist in leading debrief with Tahoma staff at the conclusion of each session. Take minutes at meeting.
- Assist in performing inventory of Tahoma program supplies and equipment at the start and finish of summer and each week. Ensure equipment is maintained and in good repair at all times.
- Lead and/or delegate weekly clean-up and assignment of duties for following week.
- Keep record of weekly cabin inspection and cabin competition points.
