Job Description
The New York County District Attorney's Office is seeking an Investigator to join its Worker Protection Unit and Construction Fraud Task Force. This unit investigates wage theft, construction fatalities and injuries, workplace safety hazards, and fraud against workers. The role involves conducting investigations, collaborating with community groups and agencies, and working under supervision to protect vulnerable populations. Requires a valid NYS driver's license and must pass background checks, medical exams, psychological screenings and an intensive background check.
Requirements
- Developing cases based on tips and leads.
- Conducting investigations of various crimes (wage theft, worker exploitation, safety issues).
- Collaborating with community groups and agencies.
- Conducting fieldwork, including surveillance and undercover operations.
- Preparing comprehensive narrative reports.
- Executing search and arrest warrants.
- Testing grand jury, criminal trials, and other court proceedings.
- Performing background investigations on employees, contractors, and registrants.
- Working in an undercover capacity.
