We are looking for a CNC Set-Up Operator to join our team at Martin Sprocket & Gear. As a CNC Set-Up Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Lathe machines, optimizing setup times, and troubleshooting programs. You will also be responsible for following in-process part inspection protocols and reporting non-conformance issues to the Supervisor/Lead. Requirements
- Measurement Proficiency: Knowledge of calipers, gauges, and other required measuring tools.
- Math Skills: Strong proficiency in basic math.
- Documentation Skills: Ability to accurately document machining procedures.
- Tooling Knowledge: Familiarity with metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling.
- Machine Experience: Experience with Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines (preferred).
- Communication: Basic oral communication skills and the ability to read, comprehend, and complete logs and reports in English.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components.
- Policy Compliance: Availability to work scheduled hours and adhere to all company policies, including timekeeping.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment and stand for an entire shift.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of machining practices, materials, and general mechanical principles.
- Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to be trained and a desire to learn new skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliability: Dependable with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
