Sr. Industrial Designer (Aruliden)

Senior Industrial Designer role at Aruliden, a design & innovation studio within Material, working on projects for various clients across sectors. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant design experience, a strong portfolio, and familiarity with human-centered design approaches and design principles. The role involves leading projects, mentoring younger designers, and contributing to the full design process.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant design experience
• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional taste, ideation, and execution
• Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent experience
• Comfortable familiarity with human-centered design approaches and experience design principles and concepts
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience in or exposure to guiding products through a development & engineering process while protecting the integrity of the design intent.
• Comfortable driving a project self-sufficiently with minimal supervision
• Familiarity liaising with manufacturers, engineers, & model-makers
• Concept, sketching, and rendering skills
• Strong proficiency in Keyshot
• Strong proficiency in Solidworks (preferred) and/or other 3D CAD packages (Rhino, Alias, etc.)
• Strong proficiency in basic Adobe Creative Suite software
• Familiarity with Figma, Google Suite, and/or Microsoft Teams a plus
• Located in NYC or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate
