The Production Manager is responsible for leading day to day operations of a 24/7 manufacturing location to drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Actively participates in the site's safety and quality management programs.
- Prepares and reviews any and all production, safety and quality reports.
- Establishes and implements improvements for cost reduction, quality assurance and production.
- Directs and assists with developmental or experimental activities.
- Works with employees to get their input for problem resolution to production issues/efficiencies utilizing problem-solving tools and skills as needed.
- Reviewing Key Performance Indicators (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) to ensure facility is on track to meet overall departmental objectives.
- Meets with Planning and Operations team members to discuss production schedules and changes in the schedule that are needed.
- Implements proactive and corrective maintenance practices relating all production equipment.
- Develops and ensures sites have an effective preventative maintenance program and they are adhering to it.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, work instructions, and regulatory requirements.
- Support investigations and corrective actions related to safety, quality, and operational issues.
- Adjust labor plans proactively to address demand changes, absenteeism, and operational constraints.
- Ensure effective overtime management and proper shift coverage, including weekends and holiday.
- Ensures plants are meeting the cycle time requirements to meet throughput objectives.
- Ensures employees are properly trained in all aspects of their jobs to include safety, quality and production.
- Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to attain operational objectives.
- Directly manage Production Supervisors and ensure consistent leadership across all shifts.
- Coach and develop supervisors to drive accountability, performance, and engagement.
- Partner with Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Promote a positive, disciplined, and results-driven culture on the production floor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
