Job Description
The Bridgeport Port Jefferson Ferry, owned and operated by the United States Coast Guard, seeks a highly qualified Chief Engineer to manage its Engineering Department. This role involves overseeing the condition and operation of mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining customer and public relations. The position offers a safe, reliable, and enjoyable ferry experience for passengers passing through Long Island Sound.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential.
- Must possess a Chief Engineering License (Unlimited HP).
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
- Must live within reasonable commuting distance of Port Jefferson, NY.
- Pass pre-employment drug test.
- Pass pre-employment physical.
