Corporate Counsel - Construction

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support its Southern Region in Dallas, Texas. The position involves providing legal advice on construction law, procurement matters, and labor strategy.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in at least one state in the United States, preferably Texas
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney
• Experience with construction law as well as familiarity with design and construction agreements
• Ability to communicate with other members of the legal department articulately, concisely, and with well-reasoned opinions
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-attorney McCarthy team members in a concise, yet thorough, manner
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and diplomatic skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
• Ability to work independently and determine creative solutions
• Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Team player, developed sense of business acumen, and ability to work with a wide variety of people
