Job Description
The Procurement Engineer leads the sourcing and procurement of critical equipment packages for utility-scale renewable energy projects. This role combines market research, supplier qualification, and commercial negotiation to secure competitive, high-quality solutions. Success in this position requires solid technical and commercial acumen, curiosity, attention to detail, and a commitment to McCarthy’s core values and a healthy, accountable team culture.
Requirements
- Perform market research and establish relationships within the industry to help McCarthy stay informed about market changes.
- Explore new technologies and lead the evaluation and benchmarking of new products.
- Initiate and lead the supplier and product qualification process.
- Negotiate and maintain favorable terms, pricing, services, and lead times with suppliers.
- Provide support to business development efforts and participate in client discussions as needed.
- Create the Request for Proposals (RFP) and solicit proposals to respective suppliers.
- Lead the procurement efforts and negotiate the scope of work for key equipment.
- Prepare contractual exhibits for the scope of work for purchase orders and consultant agreements.
