SUE Technician II

McKim & Creed is seeking a highly motivated SUE Technician II to join our team in Charlottesville. The successful candidate will utilize maps, records, and field equipment to accurately locate underground utility lines and collaborate with construction crews to ensure safe excavation and installation of utilities.

Requirements

• High School/GED or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive experience as a utility locator or SUE Technician
• Strong knowledge of underground utility systems and the ability to interpret maps and records
• Familiarity with utility locating equipment, such as electromagnetic locators and ground-penetrating radar
• Ability to walk outdoors for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Current Commercial Driver’s License is a plus
• Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with 811 ticket managing
• Motivated to learn and develop your career path
