Job Description
Medica is a nonprofit health plan seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead technical direction and contribute to the development of scalable engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, strong architectural thinking, and hands-on engineering excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7 years of work experience beyond degree
- Deep expertise in system design, distributed architecture, API design, microservices, and cloud technologies
- Strong hands-on coding experience with Python and Java
- Proven ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives without formal authority
- Experience integrating modern platforms with legacy systems in scalable and sustainable ways
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts
