MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST

This is a Full Time Position responsible for the daily operation of the women's health section of radiology, suggesting changes in procedures and policies, and maintaining accurate patient records in EHR.

Requirements

• Responsible for the daily operation of the women's health section of radiology
• Suggest changes in procedures and policies
• Maintain accurate patient records in EHR
• Perform all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols the exam with the Radiologist
• Adhere to FDA guidelines for the mammography section
• Maintain structured reporting system to ensure accurate audit reporting, statistical tracking, and resolution of workflow issues
• Ensure completion of daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Mammography imaging procedures
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and independently call a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance
• Verify exam orders, identify the patient through two means of identification, and provide exam education
• Review and document the patient's medical history, obtain required informed consent, and ensure all necessary paperwork and prior studies are complete and available before submitting procedures for Radiologist interpretation
• Maintain accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies
• Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed
• Obtain additional training or certification as required
• Assist with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required
• Assist, train, or cross-train imaging staff members as directed
• Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision
• Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory
