Case Manager For Veteran Housing Benefits And Mental Health Services

Mental Health America of Los Angeles is seeking a Case Manager for Veteran Housing Benefits and Mental Health Services. The successful candidate will provide housing placement, support, and case management services for eligible homeless veteran families. The position involves working with government, community, and private agencies to obtain rental subsidies and other resources, as well as providing follow-up support to help members maintain housing, health care benefits, and entitlements.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 2 years of providing psychiatric rehabilitation services to a disabled population
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred
• Knowledge of health care, social service resource systems, and self-help intervention strategies
• Crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills
• Strong oral/written communication and listening skills
• Team-oriented and self-directed
• Ability to empathize and relate positively to a wide variety of people
• Proficient typing and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Driving with current class C driver's license and vehicle for transportation
• TB clearance and re-testing every year
• COVID-19 vaccinations or booster shots (may become a requirement in the future)
• Employment verification directly from three (3) past employers within the most recent 7-year period
