WASH Officer

The WASH Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the hygiene promotion and sanitation components of the HACAP Program in Kelafo Woreda, Shebele Zone, Somali region.

Requirements

• BSc degree in Environmental health, Public Health, or related fields
• Minimum of 4 years of experience implementing WASH programs in humanitarian or development contexts
• Demonstrated experience in hygiene promotion, sanitation, SBCC, and community mobilization
• Previous experience with WASH NFI distribution and WASH-related assessments is an asset
• Experience working closely with local government offices, WASH clusters, and community-based structures
• Good understanding of international humanitarian standards (SPHERE, WHO) and national WASH guidelines
• Excellent team and interpersonal relationship skills, especially in a cross-cultural setting
• Ability to take directions, follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork capability
• Proficiency in English (required); Understanding local language is an asset
