Material Handler/Truck Loader

Role Overview

Metals USA is seeking a Material Handler/Truck Loader to receive, place, and return items into stock inventory locations, operate yard trucks, cranes, and forklifts, and perform tasks such as grinding and using an oxy fuel torch.

What You Will Do

Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations, tags materials, pulls and assembles customer orders, operates yard truck, cranes, and forklifts, secures loaded material, checks quantities, completes paperwork, and maintains work areas.

High school graduate or equivalent, basic arithmetic skills, ability to comprehend oral and written communication, basic reading and writing comprehension, proficient measuring skills, ability to stand for long periods of time, and detail-oriented with ability to inspect material for quality.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
• Ability to comprehend oral and written communication
• Basic reading and writing comprehension in English
• Proficient measuring skills and the ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers, and calipers
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and documents, blueprints
• Industrial warehouse experience preferred
• Experience working with Heavy Equipment preferred
• Overhead Crane/forklift experience required

• Competitive starting hourly rate of $19.00 - 20.00 + $3.00 shift differential
