Methodist Medical Group in Dallas, Texas, is seeking an experienced NP to join our rapidly growing Neurosurgery Program. Collaborate with skilled surgeons in a dynamic, high-autonomy practice, delivering comprehensive adult care, from preoperative assessments and first assisting in the OR to postoperative critical care and outpatient clinic follow-ups.
Requirements
- Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations for pre-operative and post-operative Neurosurgery patients
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging) and make appropriate clinical decisions based on findings
- Perform and assist with procedures within the scope of practice and privileging
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, consulting with other specialists as needed
- Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment plan, surgical procedures, potential risks and benefits, and post-operative care instructions
- Work collaboratively with Neurosurgeons, APPs, nursing staff, intensivists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive electronic medical records (EMR) documenting patient assessments, progress notes, orders, and procedures
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and evidence-based practice within the Neurosurgery department
- Stay current with the latest advancements in Neurosurgery and practice through continuing education, conferences, and professional organizations
- Contribute to the education and training of nursing staff, students, and other healthcare professionals
