Senior UX Designer - Permanent

Senior UX Designer position at Methods, a consultancy that partners with central government departments and agencies to improve public-facing services in the UK. The role involves designing services consistent with the rest of government, advocating for users, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Identifying, developing and using best practices and standards to design services consistent with the rest of government
• Advocating for users and understanding user needs to design simple, effective and accessible services
• Creating prototypes and concepts to communicate and test ideas with users and improving with evidence
• Experienced with the GDS/GOV.UK style guide and service design standard
• Mapping user journeys, processes and visualising design problems
• Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team by sharing design work, and participating in research
• Advocating for user-centred design and being an active part of the Design community within Methods and across government
• Take responsibility for your own learning and development and seek opportunities to improve your knowledge and experience
• UX project delivery support and guidance
• Coaching and mentoring of graduates or those in training programs
• Upskilling team members and those directly on the same project
• Support training and development plans with Head of UXD, and other senior UXDs
• Support Communities of practice, running and/or organising these as required
• Supporting the continued development of the UXD team culture
• Supporting and developing career progression opportunities
• Organising and/or running team retros, design crits and other meetings
• Support permanent staff hiring when required
