Job Description
Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package. The Site Geologist will play a key role in integrating geological expertise into large-scale urban infrastructure construction.
Requirements
- Bachelorâs or Master's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related discipline
- Currently registered in Ontario as P.Geo.
- P.Eng is a major asset
- Demonstrated experience assessing bedrock conditions in major infrastructure or construction projects
- Strong background in structural geology, with expertise in joint characterization and orientation analysis, and assessing the need of rock support installation (such as rock bolts, anchors, etc.)
- Practical experience with open-cut excavation and geotechnical classification systems (RMR, GSI, Q-System)
- Familiarity with Georgian Bay Formation geology or in similar Shale formations
- NATM/SEM tunneling experience considered a strong asset
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in high-pressure, fast-moving construction environments
- Proficiency with geological and geotechnical software (e.g., DIPS, UnWedge)
- FEM experience is an advantage
