The Field Application Engineer will support customers use of Motion applied hardware, embedded software, off-car configuration and data analysis software. This role has a primary focus on software, including helping customers use our ATLAS ecosystem. The role will focus on providing general support across the Motion applied motorsport customer base, including customers competing in F1, NASCAR, WEC, IMSA, Formula E, IndyCar and MotoGP.
Requirements
- Accurately interpret observations noted in the field to advise solutions or escalate appropriately.
- Diagnose software problems under pressure with a detailed and methodical approach.
- Good communicator with the ability to capture information quickly and accurately.
- Good understanding of the electronic elements of motorsport systems and powertrains, including the characteristics of typical sensors and actuators used in motorsport.
- Experience of working trackside in a motorsport environment.
- Educated to graduate level and awarded a minimum of an Upper Second-Class Honours Degree (2:1) in a relevant software, computer science or engineering discipline.
- Experience of the following tools beneficial: Programming languages such as Python, MATLAB (and Simulink), C#, Excel VBA - interfacing with product APIs, Familiarity with timeseries data and analysis, Understanding of data streaming brokers, including Kafka, and containerised deployments, including Docker and Kubernetes, Data analysis tools such as ATLAS, ECU set-up tools such as System Monitor.
