Requirements

• Follow established departmental policies and procedures
• Provide direct patient care and evaluate outcomes
• Perform CPR when necessary
• Monitor medical condition of patients and report changes
• Diagnose and treat patients
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive charting on patient medical records
• Enhance professional development through participation in educational programs
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and promote communications
• Implement basic cost containment and utilization management for patient care and facility operations
• Maintain security and confidentiality of all patient medical records
• Comply with all applicable pharmacy regulations
• Facilitate NCCHC/ACA accreditation of the medical program
• Perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters
• Maintain equipment and supplies
• Promote the development of positive social skills among staff and detainees
