Job Description
The Substance Abuse Counselor II reports to the program director and supervises substance abuse counselor I and treatment specialists. They perform highly complex substance abuse counseling, planning, and coordinating activities to ensure compliance with MTC and TDCJ directives.
Requirements
- Assists in planning substance abuse counseling programs
- Provides comprehensive evaluation and assessment of offender recovery needs
- Provides counseling and recovery skills training
- Maintains offender records and submits reports
- Supervises the work of others and assists in instructing others in program methods and procedures
