Phlebotomist I

Phlebotomist I at Nebraska Methodist Health System. Performs duties of a Phlebotomist to assist in the daily workload by performing assigned tasks. Collect and preserve blood samples and certain other body fluids for analysis. Utilizes interpersonal skills in communication and cooperation to assist with processing specimen, entering data, and cleaning work section to ensure patient satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent required
• 6 months of phlebotomy experience that qualifies for American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification, or approved equivalent certification, preferred
• Completion of a structured, American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) approved phlebotomy training course, or approved equivalent course, or equivalent preferred such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or MA
