Phlebotomist I

Phlebotomist I collects and preserves blood samples and body fluids for analysis. Utilizes interpersonal skills in communication and cooperation to assist with processing specimens, entering data, and cleaning work section to ensure patient satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent required.
• 6 months of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or approved equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a structured, ASCP-approved phlebotomy training course or approved equivalent course preferred.
• Routine venipuncture and dermal puncture experience preferred.
• Data entry and/or previous laboratory experience preferred.
