Security Software Engineer (L4), Detection Engineering

Netflix is seeking a Security Software Engineer (L4) to help mature and expand detection frameworks, platforms, and portfolio to minimize risk to Netflix by proactively surfacing malicious or anomalous behavior. The role involves creating and continually improving detections that run on Netflix's own platforms.

Requirements

• Experience working across the information security domain, including endpoint, email, network, identity management, cloud security, vulnerability management, incident response, and/or threat intelligence
• Hands-on experience analyzing and responding to security events, including log analysis, developing queries and analytics, troubleshooting security issues, and/or correlating complex data sets
• Ability to identify trends, insights, and relationships between internal and external data and intelligence sources to provide recommended risk mitigation
• Experience implementing, using, and configuring common security tools
• Ability to write detections at scale using a detection-as-code approach
• Scripting and development skills, preferably using Python and SQL, in a cloud-based environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate across teams and disciplines in a highly ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
• Experience working with a tight-knit team and partnering effectively with stakeholders
