We are seeking a Middle School Social Studies & Catholic Religion Teacher to serve as the Middle School homeroom teacher while teaching social studies and religion to students in grades 6–8. The role is an opportunity to help students deepen their understanding of history, civics, geography, and Catholic faith within a supportive, faith-filled Catholic school community.
Requirements
- Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned social studies instruction (including history, civics, geography, and current events) for middle school students in grades 6–8.
- Plan and deliver religion instruction that integrates Scripture, Church teaching, morality, and Catholic social teaching in alignment with Diocese of San Diego Religion Standards for grades 6–8.
- Serve as Middle School homeroom teacher, fostering a positive classroom culture and supporting students' academic, socio-emotional, and spiritual growth as they prepare for high school.
- Differentiate instruction for a wide range of learners using small-group work, projects, and educational technology (e.g., Google Classroom and other digital tools).
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments; maintain accurate records and communicate results to students and parents.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians through conferences, emails, and other updates regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with middle school colleagues to align curriculum, coordinate projects and liturgies, and share best practices.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities such as supervision duties, participation in school events, and supporting school-wide initiatives.
