Job Description
The City Bar Justice Center seeks a Staff Attorney to join its Federal Pro Se Legal Assistance Project in the Southern District of New York. The position involves providing high-quality legal services to pro se litigants at different stages of federal litigation, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and providing professional support to the project's Director.
Requirements
- New York and S.D.N.Y. bar membership in good standing
- At least two years of federal litigation experience, including employment and civil rights
- Experience delivering high-volume client services or clinical legal services
- Excellent writing and editing, oral communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and with others, and to effectively collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
- Detailed-oriented self-starter with solid legal judgment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the ability to quickly learn and effectively use LegalServer and other technology
