Staff Attorney – Consumer Bankruptcy and Education Debt Practice

The City Bar Justice Center seeks an attorney to join its consumer bankruptcy and education debt practice as a full-time Staff Attorney. The attorney will advise individuals burdened with consumer, medical, and student loan debt on rights and remedies available to them under Chapter 7 personal bankruptcy and consumer laws, and provide financial literacy education resources to the community.

Requirements

• Be an attorney in good standing licensed to practice law in New York
• Have at least two years of relevant practice experience
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and legal database platforms
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be able to manage a high-volume caseload and work independently as well as with a team
