Newmedica is looking for an experienced Scrub Practitioner to join their Ipswich and Bury St. Edmunds sites. The role involves setting up the theatre, supporting the surgeon, and maintaining high standards of patient safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have a good amount of experience in ophthalmic theatres and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Fully qualified Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
- Current registration with the NMC or HCPC
- Good amount of experience in ophthalmic theatres, hospital eye service, or private eye clinic experience
- Knowledge of clinical practice and awareness of current developments in Optometry
- Capable of working in a fast-paced, high-volume theatre setting
- Experience of supporting the surgeon during theatre – problem solving and issue resolution
- The training and coaching of others
- Desire for and commitment to continuous professional development
- Competent user of computer systems and programmes
- Excellent grasp of the English language both verbally and in written format
- Good team player – happy to jump in and support others when required
