Join Nexamp and contribute to the clean energy movement by leading the commissioning of PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and hybrid PV+BESS projects. As a Lead Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are safely and reliably energized on schedule and validating that assets perform as modeled and as represented to financing partners, banks, and utilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent education/certification background
- At least 7 years of experience designing and commissioning electrical power systems, or network design
- At least 4 years of experience in renewables such as Solar, Wind, and Storage
- Experience in controls engineering for utility-scale renewable/hybrid energy, PV/BESS, (AC-coupled/DC-coupled systems) preferred
- Knowledge of inverter parameter setting procedures
- Knowledge and experience with technical communications protocols (Modbus/TCP, DNP3.0, etc.), commonly used controls software/hardware platforms, and communication standards (MESA, Sunspec, etc.)
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with various relays, meters, SCADA Gateways, and Data Concentrators, experience with programming of RTACs, preferred
- Expertise in commissioning and resolving site technical issues, proven success in independently troubleshooting challenging SCADA related technical issues
- MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software proficiency
- Knowledge of industry standard design codes and electrical engineering and relaying principles
