Job Description
nLIGHT is seeking a highly motivated Device Engineer to drive continuous improvement in semiconductor technology. The role involves contributing to the development of next-generation diode lasers, supporting manufacturing with failure analysis and data analysis, and coordinating with cross-functional teams. This is a full-time, regular position requiring a strong understanding of semiconductor physics and photonics.
Requirements
- MS degree in Engineering (Semiconductor Physics, Optoelectronics, or a related field) or equivalent Ph.D. with a relevant research experience.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor wafer fabrication processes, material interactions, micron-scale surface chemistry, and dominant failure mechanisms.
- Experience in semiconductor diode laser testing/fabrication.
- Data analysis skills, preferred Python, SQL, Matlab, C
- Mechanical drawing skills, basic tool design skills, preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
