Automotive Technician 20021382

We are seeking an Automotive Technician to join our team at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of auto mechanics and automotive service excellence certification in at least four areas, including A1 engine repair and A8 engine performance. The successful candidate will provide work direction and training to lower-level auto mechanics and/or inmates, perform major overhauls of engines, and assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical problems.

Requirements

• Lead team of lower-level auto mechanic(s) and/or inmates
• Perform major overhauls of engines or repair most difficult and complex equipment problems
• Assist inmates/mechanic(s) in diagnosing and resolving mechanical problems
• Ensures tool control policies and procedures and chemical control policies and procedures are followed
• Repairs, rebuilds and/or replaces minor and major parts
• Adjusts valves and performs preventive maintenance and service on vehicles and equipment
• Operates equipment, snow plows and/or tow truck
• Maintains repair or service records
• Maintain required certifications
• Updates shop manuals and parts books
• Operates welding equipment
• Performs inventories and/or orders and picks up parts and supplies
• Controls/restricts inmate movement
