The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking an Automotive Technician to work at the Correction Reception Center. The position requires thorough knowledge of auto mechanics and automotive service excellence certification in at least four areas. The technician will lead a team of lower-level auto mechanics and/or inmates in performing automotive maintenance and repair tasks.
Requirements
- Lead team of lower-level auto mechanic(s) and/or inmates
- Perform major overhauls of engines or repair most difficult and complex equipment problems
- Perform minor and major repairs of vehicles and equipment
- Assist inmates/mechanic(s) in diagnosing and resolving mechanical problems
- Ensure tool control policies and procedures and chemical control policies and procedures are followed
- Repair, rebuild, and/or replace minor and major parts
- Adjust valves and perform preventive maintenance and service on vehicles and equipment
- Provide service and repair of vehicles and equipment on emergency basis
- Clean garage area, equipment, and/or tools
- Mow grass
- Operate equipment, snow plows, and/or tow truck
- Schedule maintenance and repairs of equipment
- Maintain repair or service records
- Maintain required certifications
- Update shop manuals and parts books
- Operate welding equipment
- Perform inventories and/or orders and picks up parts and supplies
- Control/restrict inmate movement
