The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is seeking board-eligible or board-certified physicians in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine to provide primary care services on a full-time/part-time basis in various correctional facilities across Ohio.
Requirements
- Certificate to practice medicine in state of Ohio as issued by State Medical Board pursuant to Section 4731.14 & 4731.281 of Revised Code.
- Work collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for patients utilizing nationally recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system
- Conduct exams, and write evaluations and reports
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing
- Manage medication
- Complete reclassifications and other reviews as indicated
- Make referrals for specialized care or treatment
- Perform duties in accordance with scope of practice; ODRC policies, procedures, protocols; and related American Correctional Association standards
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews
- Provide or share responsibilities of off-site 24-hour emergency telephone call coverage as needed
- Engage in collaborative agreements, as needed
