Academic Advisor

The Academic Advisor provides student-centered support and guidance to undergraduate Business majors at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University, responsible for college and university policies, course selection, preregistration, registration, and co-op scheduling, and utilizing various university systems to advise students.

Requirements

• Master's degree required, preferably in counseling, human services, or higher education
• A minimum of 3 to 4 years of work or educational experience, preferably in higher education
• Excellent computer, written, and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated counseling ability utilizing development theory to create a student-centered academic environment
• Detail-oriented and able to work with precision
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse backgrounds and across multiple levels
• Good public speaking and presentation skills
• Collaboration and team-oriented environment skills
• Value and provide confidentiality around sensitive issues
