Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic team at Novellis Health in Brooklyn. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality radiation therapy treatments that make a difference in our patients' lives.
Requirements
- Administer precise radiation therapy treatments in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's instructions and established safety protocols.
- Prepare patients for treatment, including simulation, positioning, and use of immobilization devices.
- Calculate radiation dosages and operate linear accelerators and other complex radiotherapy equipment.
- Maintain detailed treatment records and ensure accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system.
- Educate patients and their families about radiation therapy procedures, side effects, and management strategies.
- Observe patients during treatment and report any concerns or changes in condition to the Radiation Oncologist or radiation oncology nurse.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and safety checks.
