Dietitian - Nutrition & Food Services

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a CasualHourly PT long-assignment Dietitian to provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities. The successful candidate will advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors, provide leadership in team efforts, and participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with major concentration in Foods and Nutrition
• Dietetic Internship Program
• Licensed with Nova Scotia Regulator of Dietitians (NSRD)
• Minimum one (1) year working experience as a dietitian
• Inpatient clinical nutrition experience an asset
• Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
• Experience counselling patients in an outpatient setting
• Current WHMIS an asset
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
• Familiarity with the Meditech information system considered an asset
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitations
• Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
