Job Description
Nova Scotia Health is hiring a Healthcare Social Worker (Masters) to provide psychosocial assessments, adjustment therapy, and other interventions to clients and their families. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and have a Master's Degree in Social Work from a recognized university.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work from a recognized university
- Registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW
- 2 years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker
- Strong counselling and communication skills
- Capacity to achieve a high degree of autonomous practice
- Knowledge of issues related to family violence, sexual abuse, addictions, grief and loss, end of life, disability, crisis intervention, caregiving and continuum of care
- Preferred experience working in Geriatrics and with people who have Dementia
- Ability to prioritize effectively
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
