Job Description
Manufacturing Operator responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining heavy-duty power equipment to produce quality products according to blueprint specifications. Assist setup and operate multiple automatic and/or multi-slide equipment. Check material for correct size, type, identification, configuration and color. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Sets up and operates heavy-duty power equipment to bend, form, stretch and straighten products / materials as specified by blueprints, layout, and templates.
- Perform duties required to assist setup and operate multiple automatic and/or multi-slide equipment perform simultaneous processes for a variety of products.
- Ability to understand and work from drawings, order / route sheets, schedules, written, and verbal instructions.
- Check material for correct size, type, identification, configuration and color.
- Assist with set-up of dies, movable and stationary equipment, forming blocks, adjust stroke and feed as needed.
- Competent use micrometers, calipers, scales, tape measures, calculators and fixed gauges to check work in process and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Move materials in the performance of duties using pallet jack, lift truck or crane (if PIT qualified) as necessary.
- Install and check safety devices as needed for specific jobs.
- Report faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor or other appropriate resources.
- Observe and adhere to all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
